P90X Results

Welcome to my Day 56 P90X Results. Below are the measurements.
How do you feel when you get up in the morning?
I don’t know about you but when I get up in the morning I’m tired and usually a little bit sore. I”m 52 years old and when I was younger I don’t remember being sore or as tired. What I do know is that until I started working out I would remain tired and sore for most of the day.
Now the first thing I do is drink a nutritional drink (shakeology) for my breakfast, take my vitamins, then I work out.
The reason I exercise every day no matter how bad I feel in the morning is because of how I feel after the workout.
Every day by the time I get done with the warm up the pain is gone. I’m not felling as tired and seem to have more energy. That’s a really good thing because I need that energy for the workout.
At the end of the workout yes I’m tired again but it’s a different tired. It’s tired from the exercise not a sleepy tired. Within 30 minutes after the workout I feel great. And that feeling last for most of the day.
There is nothing better than that feeling! No drug, diet pill or diet drink can come close to making you feel that way.
So I urge you to just try it. Set a goal markĀ it on your calendar and do it. Then after you have reached that goal how do you feel? How do you feel each day after you do the workout?
I think you will find the same as I have you feel great!!
To your success,
Coach Glen
Stop Slipping When doing Yoga.
When I first started P90X I started doing the exercises on the floor. I soon found out that even on carpetĀ your hands slip. So I went out an purchased a Yoga Mat. I was a little disappointed when my hands still slipped using the new mat.
Yoga is hard enough without having to try and fight with slipping hands and feet. I thought maybe I bought the wrong mat. I was prepared to purchase a new one so I began to search and see which was the best.
What I found was that almost all mats slip. Some people said that after a while the new finish wears and you won’t slip any more. Some said to wash the mat with soap and water. Then I found a post that said to wear weight lifting or biker gloves (the ones with the fingertips cut off). The idea here is that it keeps the sweat off your hands. That made a lot of sense to me. So I happened to have a pair of leather motorcycle gloves and I thought that’s cheaper than buying a new mat, so why not give it a try.
Viola it worked. The gloves grip on the mat and no more slipping. So if you are having an issue with slipping on your mat try running to your local sports store or motorcycle shop and pick up a pair of no finger gloves.
Sincerely,
Coach Glen

This is Yoga X My Brother!
Today I wanted to talk a little bit about Yoga X and Give some of you encouragement. For those of you who think Yoga is for sissies all I can say is you haven’t tried it or your scared! I’ve been doing the routine each and every time it is scheduled in the P90X workout. Of all the workouts this is the only one that I am unable to keep up with the group and I’m in phase II. I don’t let it get me discouraged. At first I could jump in and out of the routine. The moving positions at the beginning require you to do Sun Salutations many times. What that means is that you stand tall slowly bend over with a flat back arms straight out to the side all the way down till you touch the floor.
